UWF, Inc. Alternative Methods to Waste Disposal
What items can be composted?
Organic residuals can be a mix of pre consumer fruit and vegetable scraps, post consumer food waste, animal products (including bones), paper products,
cardboard, waxed cardboards, breads, pasta and more. Special systems allow the waste to be heated to high temperatures required by EPA Standards killing weed
seeds and bacteria, yet allowing for the accelerated decomposition of waste restoring it into a useable compost product.
Why on-site composting makes sense:
- waste removal savings
- kitchen disposal savings
- mulch/topsoil savings
- reduction of pesticide/herbicide use
- other environmental impacts alleviated and gained
Specific criteria must be met for composting on site to be successful. Meeting these criteria is of utmost importance in the planning of UWF, Inc. composting
operations. Technology is currently available to allow low maintenance, pest and odor control of onsite thermophilic systems.
Through a complete waste assessment and feasibility study of your company, UWF, Inc. will be able to:
- identify the compost machine capacity appropriate to the facility
- provide education on source separation process to staff
- services, maintenance and repairs
- unloading and hauling of the composted product
- turn key systems
